For this Journey into art we will begin with a journal to capture our sketches & ideas, a “16 x 20” canvas, a palette of dyes, acrylics & acrylic mediums, brushes & spray bottles. Using mother nature as our launching pad we will develop a storyboard on canvas. A triad of potential that uses symbols and contrasting colors. Birds, fish & animals are part of this theme. We will work with anatomy playing with line, shadows and a sense of weight using darks & lights.
All level of artists are invited to join in for an exploration into our natural world and our own vision of this world. You are encouraged to bring your own brushes which should include a variance of sizes. Examples: Acrylic/watercolor in round, bright for flats & angle brush types. Small, medium & large sizes. Also fan brushes and old scrub brushes are encouraged. I will have plenty of old brushes as well.
Because of the use of dyes, I encourage old clothing and/or coverings such as t-shirts. The dyes used are environmentally safe and will wash off of your skin as well. I love the messy process! The class will include a triad of dyes (Golden Yellow, Cobalt Blue & Scarlet Red) that have been pre-mixed in containers for your use.
